Melissa Greene is Harry Warren's newest associate, March of 2020. Her education and career path leading to joining HWI will be an asset to our west coast branch. We look forward to Melissa blending with our team and customers.
Melissa Greene joined HWI in March, training at home and virtually meeting her customers. She will be working with the luxury accounts on Florida’s west coast.
Melissa grew up in Bristol, Connecticut before heading to college in North Carolina at UNC Charlotte. After college she moved to Florida to start her career as a teacher and to be closer to family. She was a teacher for 5 years but knew that she was not doing what she really enjoyed and wanted to follow her interests in interior design and event planning for new career opportunities. After working for a cabinet design company, she heard about the job opening with Harry Warren through friends that are showroom consultants at Ferguson.
When she isn’t working Melissa loves to spend time with her husband, Drew, her daughter Payton (2) and stepson Landon (7). They love to travel as a family and look forward to days when they are able to go travel again.
Hope Brazee Smith is truly a native Floridian, born and raised in central Florida. She grew up in a plumbing industry family. Her grandfather, Jerry Haley, and father Bill Brazee, go back decades involved in all aspects working with wholesalers, contractors and engineers. Like many Floridians she grew up surrounded by water, boating, fishing and close family activities.
After working with a gas contractor, Hope joined Harry Warren April 1st, 2014. Over the past 6 years inside and eventually outside sales introduced her to a broad brush of our customers. Currently she spends time working in the office, inside sales, moving to outside sales primarily calling on showrooms, builders and specifiers.
Life changed for Hope and CJ on February 21st 2019; with a big smile and blue eyes, Cooper Jacob Smith arrived!
Like many of our associates, John McFall came to Harry Warren with considerable industry experience. During his high school and college years, he worked at Ferguson Enterprises, starting in their home office, Newport News, VA and ending up in Orlando/Longwood. One of the in-between years with FEI included Radford, VA while attending Radford University.
In 1987 John joined the family business, Manufacturers Representative, based in Winter Park with statewide responsibilities. As the business grew he moved to Boca Raton to service this huge market.
In December of 2012 he joined Harry Warren in outside sales, central and southeast Florida. Years of training via FEI and the family business helped the transition to be successful. Recent company adjustments expanded John’s responsibilities statewide.
John & Kelly enjoy Golf, boating, fishing, outside activities and hanging out at the beach. Spending quality time with the family, including everyone in the outside activities. Cooking for family and friend events allow him to show off his Traeger grill and expertise in the kitchen.
John Walker celebrates 6 years with Harry Warren, Inc July 28th, 2020, all as a part of Orlando’s inside sales team. He shared that WATTS Drainage and Orion was his specialty, knowing the complete agency manufacturing partners was a challenge worth working toward.
Akron, Ohio is where he grew up and attended high school. He then attended the University of Akron (the Zips) for a couple semesters. While in Akron John worked with a small construction company framing houses. The winter was a factor in convincing him to move south.
John became a Florida resident in 1994. Having an urge to get back to school he enrolled at Santa Fe Community College in 1995 where he got an Associate Degree. He then transferred on to the University of Florida majoring in Business Administration graduating in the spring of 2000.
Hughes Supply, Orlando became a career choice. He worked all jobs including driving a truck, counter, and inside sales.
Starting as an outside salesman in 2005 in the Leesburg and Ocala areas. He remembers “the good old days of Hughes” fondly. Decision time for John remaining at Hughes came with a philosophy change as the family sold the company to Home Depot.
David Evans, in a conversation with John, suggested he consider Harry Warren. A call to Bob Mycoff resulted in joining team Harry Warren.
John and Samantha are blessed with two sons, Alex (12) and Jason (8). Family activities of all sorts occupy home time with basketball, John and the guys, a favorite pastime. Indoor sport includes basketball in Jason’s room, 2 on 1. Other activities, a big Gator family enjoying all Gator sports throughout the year. Attending a local church is also a favorite activity on Sunday.

Went to University of Puerto Rico and got a BBA with a major in Marketing. After graduating from college, I moved to Fort Lauderdale to study Culinary Arts. My plans were to open my own catering business in PR but life changed and I stayed in Ft Lauderdale. Later moved to Miami which has been home for the past 20 years.
My professions include six years in Food and Beverage Industry, management with CVS, owned a Freight Forwarder business.
Introduction to Enrique Aranda led me to VMS representing Grohe. This is my fourth year with Harry Warren, outside sales Pompano, and a total of ten years in the plumbing industry.
Family is a priority to me. The most important part of my life are my kids, Diego and Paulina, my husband Heriberto and my dog Moruza. I enjoy cooking, reading, going to the beach and entertain family and friends at home. I’m a very easy going person and try to live my life as happy as possible in this crazy world.
My plans for the future – Travel to new places! Life is too short!
Fred Gardner, Commercial Specified Products, became an important part of our company in 1996. Originally from Michigan, his family moved to Clearwater Florida in 1966. After graduating from high school Fred attended USF while working multiple interesting jobs.
Lochinvar became a valuable starting point, recruiting Fred into the water heater business in 1977. What will become invaluable for future use was the training starting with working in the plant taking apart and re-assembling water heaters.
Once trained, company direction was to focus on engineer calls. Clearly stated, their future would be getting Lochinvar specified, work with the contractor and wholesaler to pull through the order.
AO Smith provided, in December of 1983, the next career move establishing Fred the District Manager for the state of Florida. Initially AOS worked through Factory associates, later transitioning to Manufacturer Representatives.
AO Smith made the decision to move from factory representation to Manufacturers Representative in 1996. It became clear to adequately service major markets significant manpower, working offices, established contacts with wholesalers, engineers and contractors were vital to achieve success. Harry Warren excelled in all categories becoming one of the first reps in the country chosen to be AOS’s new partner. Fred joined HWI during this time leading us into the water heater business.
Today, Fred continues to be a significant force in residential, commercial, contractor and securing specifications. Last, but vitally important, is being active with the contractor and wholesaler to maintain our spec and secure the order. Personal enjoyment is anything to do with the water; beach & boating. Reading and world affairs on weekends. Worrying about the kids !
Getting together with Jose Torres (virtually) began with him in superspeed mode. His excitement stemmed from 1) doing a lot of training 2) new technology to learn, a positive 3) being part of the team concept. A native of Puerto Rico, Jose may be HWI’s most interesting person. In no certain order life’s journey prior to Harry Warren:
Jose joined Harry Warren’s outside sales team on April 1, 2016, servicing SE Florida from his home base of Jupiter, FL. In addition to being well prepared for outside sales, being bilingual is invaluable working in his market area. Jose and Marisol have three boys in their 20’s, all living in Florida. Outside interest include fishing, skeet and sporting clay shooting.
Ann Rickenbach’s career in the industry began in 1973, Tropical Supply with branches in South Florida. Little did she know that, starting as a receptionist and purchasing, would evolve into a 46 year career and counting. As the industry changed, in the 70’s and 80’s, consolidations of wholesalers and the growth of multiple branch operations, Ann was provided opportunities that included an introduction to the Manufacturers Representative side of the business. Initially she missed the daily contact with plumbers and contractors, working with product and the field.
In 1993 Ann chose to move from South Florida to Tampa joining Castle Supply, returning to the wholesale side of the business. November 1st of 2006, Ann became an important part of Harry Warren as an Inside Sales Specialist. She is considered HWI’s premier go-to-person for Elkay and major support on many additional lines. Today Ann enjoys working with HWI’s young associates, providing current customer and product knowledge, adding to their professional growth. She takes pride in preparing the younger generation for future success in our business.
Personal interest outside of the office is spending time on the beach and fishing. Years gone by, bowling was a favorite pastime.
Chris Hall’s coming to Harry Warren started in January of 2014, middle of winter in Buffalo, NY. While scraping snow and ice from his vehicle, temperature hovering around 0 F in Buffalo compared to the high 60’s in Sarasota, FL, the light finally went on. Having made the decision to go south an industry friend, familiar with HWI and Bob Mycoff, suggested a meeting with the rest history.
Chris joining HWI in 2014 achieved moving his family to Florida while filling an important need for HWI. Working in Buffalo for Irr Supply, established in 1864, one of the premier multi-location wholesaler and long time AO Smith distributor, 12 years of technical training, last three years in outside sales. Gaining experience in the rep business, Chris worked with Emerson Swan Inc., as the AO Smith Tankless expert for New York state.
Gail and Chris share the love of being outdoors, fishing, boating, golf and destination trips. Moving to The Villages is a perfect location to fit their life style. When retirement arrives destination traveling could be expanded to include far away places.
A“GO WEST YOUNG MAN” was used in the mid 1850’s by Horace Greeley recommending America's expansion westward. HWI’s Orlando based inside sales specialist, Randy Joachim, reversed Greeley’s phrase calling San Francisco home moving east to Orlando in 2011 as his career developed.
Growing up on the west coast exposed Randy to all the major and minor sports. Through his late 20’s he participated in all the major sports. Before suffering a shoulder injury he pitched 10 years in organized baseball.
Randy’s career path is almost exclusively valve and hydronics based sales, assembling, repairing pumps & valves. While working on the west coast, Taco became a major part of his career spanning 22 years. Soon to be with HWI 8 years, Taco and Watts are two of the major lines within our company consuming much of Randy’s time.
Outside of the work day, family and faith based activities are most important. Stacey, his wife of 22 years, and Randy enjoy the home life and spending time with their daughter Kylie, and granddaughter, Braelynn.
The real passion for Randy is working with kids via sports and faith based teaching. Kids from kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to be involved in the Upward program. Children of all faiths, nationalities and special needs are included.
No thought of retirement today, but when the time arrives he plans to focus on the development of children through sports and spending time with family.
JOHN DANIEL, HWI’s Project Sales Director, is responsible for assembling a team of associates dedicated to securing specifications at the initial concept stage and overseeing the specification through installation. Architects, interior design companies and engineers are prime decision makers in this process.
John attended Florida State University with an interest in Urban Development. Soon after graduating, a career change occurred when his major education field declined for economic reasons. Switching to a business career was a good choice.
In 2012 he became aware of career possibilities with Harry Warren and eventually joined the company. The west coast of Florida, Tampa based, was his first assignment. Primary objective at the beginning was showroom and Division 10 products, working with current accounts and securing additional distribution. Connection with the Tampa staff soon involved him in all aspects of the business.
The need for project sales development became real in 2018. John D moved to Orlando accepting the challenge of forming a team designed to secure specifications. Elkay & Bradley are two of many lines we represent that will open the doors with Architects and Interior Design Companies.
Playing golf, working around the house and yard work occupy much of John’s personal time. A rabid sports fan, GO FSU!, and travel remain on his things to do list.
BRENDA LALEY fits perfectly with many of HWI’s associates when comparing experience in our industry. Before joining Harry Warren in 2012, she worked most aspects of the business with Hughes Supply, starting in 1977. The Hughes training began in the office, counter sales, inside sales and eventually showroom sales. Brenda’s favorite was the showroom, bringing out the art side of her abilities while presenting ideas to her customers was rewarding.
Transitioning from Hughes to HWI in 2012 fit with her showroom experience, American Standard and Grohe, adding to our inside sales support of showroom products. Currently Brenda is our receptionist & working orders, Orlando office.
Interests outside of HWI will include developing her art side. Years ago her passion to be an art teacher was not fulfilled, future art development is a possibility. Another interest, upon retirement, is volunteer work at a hospital, helping others is a stated goal of hers.
On a personal level she and her husband Bill, enjoy traveling the state as a tourist on weekends. When slow down days come, the travel will be extended to different parts of the USA.
Don Barbee, born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana officially making him a “Hoosier.” High School behind him, Purdue University was his college of choice, located on the banks of the Wabash River in West Lafayette, IN. Purdue is known for a wide variety of great things. People all over the country mistakenly assume that it is an Ivy league school. It is a well renowned engineering school; it has a great technology program. In 1977 Don received a Marketing Degree.
College in the rear-view mirror, Houston, Texas, and the oil industry entered the picture. Houston in 1977 was a city booming with oil money, urban cowboys, and a burgeoning international community that was still getting its bearings on Planet Texas. Don spent the next 12 years working within the oil community including working the Gulf of Mexico rigs.
Orlando was his next stop making the move in 1990. Using his knowledge gained in the oil business, great experience in working valves and backflow preventers, Don entered the manufacturer representative business working multiple levels of valve users.
Harry Warren, Inc. April 1, 2016 started his current profession as an outside sales representative for irrigation, waterworks and fire protection markets in central and the west coast Florida.
Don and Deborah are blessed with two sons, Blake 18, Jacob 14, and Odie, a rescue dog. The guys are active in team/travel baseball preforming on a high level. New Smyrna Beach is a favorite, a weekend home there, staying busy fishing, boating and some golf. Travel baseball is on hold for now with “Team Barbee” anxious for the virus to dissipate allowing more baseball.
Harry Warren, Inc. Florida and Harry Warren of Georgia, LLC is honored to have received the American Standard Award, "Representative of the Year for Highest Sales Increase in 2012"
"We are in a new era for the plumbing industry, and we wanted a look that reflects both today issues and tomorrow's opportunities," said Bob Mycoff, president, in an interview with Florida Plumbing Perspective. "For instance, our team understands the growing importance of water conservation and other 'green' solutions in the residential and commercial markets." For Harry Warren, Inc., the change to its logo and graphics is just one of the steps forward the firm is making this year. The rep firm is adding new personnel, exploring new applications for its product line and updating and adding more features to its website (www.harrywarren.com). "Online, social and mobile communications are becoming increasingly important to everyone in the plumbing industry," Mycoff said. "Therefore, we have updated our site to support those informational tools and create more functions and interactive features for users." For example, the new site includes photos of the firm's inside sales and service personnel, along with a brief description of their roles. "Someone who talks to an inside sales person can see that person's picture," Mycoff said. "We think it's important to be able to put a face with a name or a voice on the phone. It's also a time-saving feature, since a customer can see exactly who to contact for their needs." Mycoff adds that the new site also readily identifies the various channels that Harry Warren Inc. services, an important service because there are often overlapping individual responsibilities. "From showrooms to water systems to high-end residential projects, we want to make it as easy as possible for users to connect with the right people," he said.
